Sharma General Store

Sharma General Store is located at Shop No 3A in Tunda Talab Chowk. We are right in the Shakti Nagar area of Amritsar, not far from the Kali Mata Mandhir. The shop is pretty easy to find if you're in the neighborhood. We mostly sell things like soap, snacks, and small household items. It’s a small place, so we have to hang some items from the ceiling hooks to save space. You’ll see packets of chips and small toys dangling there. The floor is simple cement, and we keep a bench outside for people to sit if they’re waiting. Most of our customers are neighbors we’ve known for years. We know who wants which brand of tea and who likes their biscuits crunchy. It’s a quiet life for the most part, except during festival times when the chowk gets really packed. We don't have fancy computers to track everything; we mostly use a notebook and a pen. Sometimes we forget to turn the sign around, but people know we’re inside anyway. We just keep the basics available so people don't have to go all the way to the big markets. It’s just a regular store run by regular people. We wake up, open the shop, and wait to see who stops by. It’s honest work and it feels right to be part of the street life here. We just keep things as they are.
