We are based out of Daal Mandi Chowk, which is right in the heart of Amritsar, near the Golden Temple. It’s an incredibly busy area with lots of history and people constantly moving about. Our setup is a bit different because we handle things under the name Rationatmydoor.com, focusing on getting supplies out to people. The streets around here are narrow and can be quite difficult to navigate, especially when we are moving goods. We spend a lot of our time in the shop sorting through different qualities of pulses and grains that come from the mandi. It is a noisy, dusty, and very active place to work. We don't have a fancy office with air conditioning; it's more about the smell of spices and the sound of rickshaws outside. The goal is just to get the groceries packed up and sent off to wherever they need to go. We check the bags of rice and flour ourselves to make sure everything looks okay before it leaves. It's a lot of heavy lifting and manual work every day. Being so close to such a famous landmark means we see a lot of visitors, but our main focus is on the actual work of managing the rations. It is a very grounded, practical business rooted in the middle of a traditional market. We just keep our heads down and get the orders ready for the day without any fuss.
