Rana Karyana Store

Rana Karyana Store is my small business located in Satguru Ram Singh Colony. Specifically, we are at Shop No. 6, right in the Mohini Park area of Amritsar. It’s a typical grocery shop where we keep all the basic food items and household goods. I spend most of my time here, surrounded by bags of rice and stacks of canned goods. The shop is in a residential part of town, so we get a lot of mothers and older folks coming in throughout the day. I don't use a computer for the accounts; I still prefer my big notebook and a pen. It feels more real that way. Sometimes the light in the back flickers, but I'll get around to fixing it eventually. The street outside is usually quiet until the school day ends. Then it gets a bit noisy with kids looking for snacks. I try to keep the prices where they should be so people keep coming back. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what I know. Amritsar is a good place to have a shop like this because people still like to buy things from a person they recognize. I keep the floor swept, though dust always finds its way in from Mohini Park. There’s no big story to us, just a man running a karyana store to pay the bills and serve the neighbors who need their daily kitchen supplies.
