Pardeep Karyanaa Store

Pardeep Karyanaa Store is sitting at shop 18 on Fatehgarh Churian Road in Amritsar. We are pretty easy to find since we’re near the church and the petrol pump. Having a petrol pump nearby means we get people stopping in at all hours while they’re filling up their tanks. Amritsar has a certain pace to it, and on this road, it feels like everyone is in a hurry. I usually open up around eight and stay until late. The shop is full of karyana items like bags of flour, lentils, and different types of pickles. I try to keep the place tidy, but when the new sacks of rice arrive, they usually sit in the middle of the floor for a day or two. It’s just how it goes when you’re running a small place. The church nearby brings a lot of people on Sundays, so that’s usually our busiest time. I like the atmosphere then; it feels very lively. We have a small television in the corner that’s usually on the news or some match, which gives us something to talk about with the customers. It’s not a fancy supermarket, just a local karyana store where the floor is a bit uneven and the shelves are crowded. We’ve been here through many seasons, and we know the neighborhood like the back of our hand. We just want to make sure people get their groceries.
