Nikki Hatti General Store

You can find Nikki Hatti General Store at Shop No 989 on Ramtirth Road. We are situated very close to Khalsa College and the animal sciences department, so we see a lot of students all day long. It makes the atmosphere around here feel quite young and energetic. They usually come in looking for snacks, notebooks, or pens between their classes. I try to keep the things they ask for most often right at the front. The shop itself is quite old and simple, nothing like the modern stores you see in the city center. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but I never seem to find the time to get it done. Every morning I’m here early to arrange the milk crates and bread. Amritsar gets quite cold in the winters and really hot in the summers, so that affects what people want to buy. There’s always some noise from the road and the students laughing outside. It’s a good spot, even if it gets a bit chaotic when a whole group of boys comes in at once to buy drinks. I’ve lived in this area for years, so I know the shortcuts and the local gossip. It’s a basic general store where we just try to have what the neighborhood needs on a daily basis without making a big fuss about it.
