Moonson General Store

Our shop is right in Sharifpura, specifically Gali No 1 in Amritsar. We are very close to the bus stand, so you can always hear the buses pulling in and out. It’s a noisy spot because of all the travelers and the people rushing to catch their rides. Moonson General Store is just a small place where we keep things that people might need in a hurry. Being near the Amritsar bus stand means we get a mix of locals and people who are just passing through for an hour. The shelves are mostly full of daily essentials. Sometimes we have stuff sitting in boxes on the floor because we haven't had time to put it away yet. The ceiling fan wobbles a bit, but it keeps the air moving. We don't have a big staff, usually just one or two of us here. The street outside Gali No 1 is always busy, and sometimes it’s hard for people to park their scooters. We just keep our heads down and serve whoever comes to the counter. It’s not a polished store with bright lights. We use what we have. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit in the shade until it comes back. It’s a practical life. We see a lot of different faces every day, which makes the time go by faster. We open up early because the bus stand never really sleeps. The door squeaks a bit when it opens.
