Manohar Daily Needs

Manohar Daily Needs is located at Shop No. 7 in the Islamabad area of Amritsar. We’re very close to the Raghunath Mandir, so we can hear the temple bells throughout the day. It’s a nice sound to work to. Our shop is focused on the things people need on a daily basis. We have milk, bread, eggs, and all those small things that run out quickly at home. The area around here is quite residential, so we see the same people almost every day. It feels more like a community than just a business. We open up quite early so the morning walkers can get what they need. The shop is small and the shelves are quite full, often reaching all the way to the ceiling. We have to use a small stool to reach the top. There’s always something to do, whether it’s checking the expiry dates or rearranging the biscuit packets. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we do. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to work in the dim light, but the customers don’t seem to mind much. We’ve grown accustomed to the way things work in this part of Amritsar. We aren't looking to expand or become a big supermarket. We just want to keep serving the people who live near the temple. It’s a steady, quiet way to make a living, and we’re quite content with our small corner in Islamabad.
