Lucky General Store

Lucky General Store is our small place near the Chhehertta Chownk in Amritsar. We are right in the Main Market, which is usually a very loud and busy part of town. It’s been our daily spot for a long time now. We sell the usual things like biscuits, milk, flour, and whatever else people realize they forgot to buy for their dinner. The 143001 area is quite active, so there is always someone coming or going. Sometimes it’s a bit chaotic with the traffic from the Chownk, but you get used to it after a few weeks. We don’t have any big signs or bright lights. Most people know us by name anyway. We just try to keep the stuff people ask for the most. My brother and I usually take turns at the counter. It isn't a glamorous job, but it keeps us busy. In the winter, it gets quite cold in the shop, so we keep a small heater near our feet. In the summers, the lassi stalls nearby are the only thing that keeps us going. We see a lot of different people every day, from students to old-timers who have lived in Chhehertta their whole lives. We don’t have a website or anything like that. We just focus on what’s in front of us. It is a plain, honest shop. We do our work and go home when the sun goes down, tired but mostly okay with how the day went.
