Khullar General Store

If you go down Majitha Road towards Medical Enclave, you will find Khullar General Store. We are at Shop No. 6, right near the Gurudwara in the Bhawani Nagar area. It is a good spot because people are always passing by on their way to pray or visit the hospital nearby. I keep the shop stocked with basic stuff like biscuits, pulses, and cleaning supplies. It is not a very big shop, so sometimes things are stacked a bit high. I worry about them falling over, but it hasn't happened yet. Most days are the same, which is fine by me. I start early to get the bread and milk sorted before the morning rush. The fan in the corner makes a bit of a clicking noise, but it keeps the air moving. I know most of the families in Bhawani Nagar by their first names now. We don't do any big advertising or anything fancy. People just know we are here if they need something in a hurry. Sometimes I let the neighborhood kids hang out for a minute while they pick their sweets. The sidewalk outside can get a bit dusty from the road traffic, so I have to wipe the jars down often. It is just a regular life running a store in Amritsar. I try to be fair with everyone and keep things simple at the counter while I weigh out the lentils and pack up the bags.
