Jmjk General Store

Our shop, Jmjk General Store, is over on Majitha Road in Amritsar, specifically at Shop Mo. 3 in Gulmohar Avenue. We are located right near the Gurudwara, which is a nice spot because we get to hear the morning prayers while we are opening up for the day. I spend most of my time here checking the stock and seeing what we are running low on. We have the standard things most people need for their homes, like sugar, lentils, and cleaning supplies. People often stop by after they visit the temple to pick up a few things they forgot to get earlier. The shop can feel a bit small when more than a few people come in at once, but we make it work somehow. I try to keep the shelves organized, though sometimes new boxes just sit on the floor for a bit when we are busy. The winters here in Amritsar get quite cold, so we usually have to wrap up in thick sweaters while we wait behind the counter. We do not have big signs or anything modern, just a simple neighborhood store where we know which brand of tea our regulars prefer. It is not a complicated business, just selling everyday items to the people living nearby. We just aim to be here when someone needs a pack of matches or some flour for dinner.
