Jatinder General Store

Jatinder General Store is sitting right at Shop No 75 in the Golden Cloth Market. We are just opposite the Sultanwind Gate in Amritsar. It’s a very old and famous part of the city. Being in the cloth market means there’s always a lot of noise and people moving about. We aren't a cloth shop though; we are a general store. We keep items that the shoppers and the people working in the market might need suddenly. It could be a bottle of water, some aspirin, or just a pen. The shop is small and tucked away among the bigger textile places. We’ve been here for a long time, watching the gate and the traffic go by. Amritsar is a busy place, especially around these old gates. We don't have a fancy interior. The counters are a bit worn out from years of use. We just do our work and talk to the regulars who have been coming for decades. Sometimes the weather gets really hot and we just sit under the fan waiting for the next person. We don’t use any marketing tricks. People know we are here if they need something small. It’s a simple way to earn a living. We try to keep the most common items in stock so nobody leaves empty-handed. It’s just a part of the market life. The gate is a good landmark if you're ever lost.
