Jasdosh General Store

Jasdosh General Store is a small shop located in Gurnam Nagar, Amritsar, very close to the local Gurdwara. Being so close to the Gurdwara means we hear the prayers throughout the day, which is quite nice while we work. The shop is run by our family and we sell all the usual things like bread, milk, eggs, and general household items. We also keep some prayer items and incense because of where we are located. The shop is basically one large room with shelves lining all the walls. It’s not a fancy place, and the floor is just simple concrete. We have a small desk where we keep our accounts and a jar of pens. The Main Bazar in Gurnam Nagar can get a bit crowded in the evenings when everyone is out for a walk. We know most of our customers by their faces if not their names. It’s a quiet life for the most part, just filling orders and chatting with the people who come in. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to use candles or a flashlight to find things for the customers, but no one seems to mind. We don't have any staff, so we take turns staying at the shop so someone is always there. It’s a simple business, and we just try to keep the shelves full and the prices fair for everyone in the neighborhood.
