If you find yourself in the Shakti Nagar area of Amritsar you might run into Jagdish Karyana Store. We are sitting at Shop No 16 and we have been here for quite some time now. Being near Bazar Tokerian means there is always something going on around the corner. The pincode for this part of town is 143006. It is not a very big shop but it does the job for the folks living in Shakti Nagar. we get the morning crowd coming in before they head off to work and then it gets quiet for a bit in the afternoon when it is hot outside. Amritsar heat can be something else sometimes. We just keep the fan going and wait for the evening rush. Most people know us by name and we know what they usually want before they even ask for it. That is the thing about having a shop like this one. It is more about the people than anything else. Shop No 16 is easy to find if you are familiar with the landmarks around Bazar Tokerian. We don't have any big advertisements or anything like that. People just know where we are. It is a basic setup with shelves and some counters but it works for us. We try to keep things organized but sometimes it gets messy when we are busy. That is just how a karyana store goes. We like being part of the neighborhood here.
