Our office is at Shop Number 54 in Goal Bagh, right across from the main railway station in Amritsar. Because we are so close to the station, we see people coming and going at all hours of the day and night. The sound of train whistles is just part of our background now. We keep the office open early because that’s when the first trains arrive and people are looking for a way to get to their hotels or the temple. It’s a functional space with a few maps pinned to the wall and a big desk where we keep the car keys and some registers. We spend a lot of time outside talking to the drivers or checking the tires. The area around Goal Bagh is usually quite active, so there’s always something to look at while we wait for the next booking. We aren’t a big corporate company, just a small team of us who know the city well. We don't have a website that’s very fancy, mostly we just talk to people face-to-face when they walk across from the station platform. The floor is a bit scuffed from all the luggage being dragged in and out over the years. We just focus on getting the cars ready and making sure the drivers know where they are going. It’s straightforward work and we like it that way. No big fuss.
