Hero General Store

Hero General Store is located on Railway Road in Beas, which is a bit of a distance from the main Amritsar city. We are in Galli No- 2, right near Dr. Santokh Singh’s clinic. It’s a good spot because people walking to the station or the clinic often stop in for something. I’ve got all sorts of things packed into the shop, from soap bars to bags of flour and packets of spices. Beas is a quiet town compared to the big cities, but Railway Road gets its fair share of traffic. I usually start the day by sweeping the front step and checking what needs to be ordered. The shelves are made of old wood and the light inside isn't the brightest, but it feels like home to me. I've been running this place for quite a while now. Some days are slow and I just sit on my chair watching the tractors go by. Other days, I barely have time to drink my tea because there are so many customers. I don't really have any big plans to expand or anything. I just want to keep the shop running and make sure the locals have a place to get their daily needs without having to travel too far. Punjab gets very hot in May, so I keep the cold drinks well-stocked in the little fridge. It’s a simple business and I’m happy with how things are going in our little corner. It keeps me active and I get to hear all the local gossip too.
