Hastir Travel

If you walk down Goal Bagh Road, you’ll find us at Shop No 51. It’s right in the travel market, which is basically just across from the railway station. It’s a very busy spot. You can hear the trains whistling all through the day. Hastir Travel is mostly about helping people who just landed in Amritsar or are looking to head out. We see a lot of tired people carrying heavy bags. The station area is always a bit chaotic, but that's where the work is. We’ve been here in the 143002 zip code for a good long time. The office gets a bit dusty because of all the traffic on the road outside. We just keep a rag handy to wipe the desks. It is a simple setup. We spend a lot of time on the phone with drivers or checking train timings. Sometimes the trains are late, which messes up everyone’s schedule, but we just deal with it as it comes. It's a lot of practical work, nothing too complicated. We don't have a huge staff, just a few of us who know the routine. Most people come in because they saw our sign while walking to the station. It’s a decent living and we like being in the thick of things. You get used to the rush after a while. We just keep the doors open and see who comes in next.
