Goppy General Store

Main Chownk is always loud, and being right here in Main Bazar means there is never a quiet moment from morning till night. We opened Goppy General Store quite some time ago. It is just a regular place where people stop by when they need something quick. Since we are near the Gurdwara, we see a lot of people passing through every day. Sometimes they are just looking for a cold drink or maybe some small household item they forgot to get earlier. The shelves are usually full of whatever people in Amritsar typically ask for. It is not a very big shop, but we try to keep things organized enough so you can find what you need without too much trouble. My day usually starts with sweeping the front and getting the stock moved around so everything is visible. It gets dusty with all the traffic outside, so cleaning is a constant job. The 143002 area is busy, and being in the heart of the bazaar means we deal with all sorts of folks. There is no fancy lighting or anything like that here. It is just a plain shop with counters and racks. We have been in this spot for years and the neighborhood has changed a lot, but the shop stays mostly the same. I spend most of my time behind the counter, chatting a bit with the regulars who live nearby. It is just a local business doing what it does every day.
