Gold Unisex Salon

Our place is tucked away on Macleod Road in Amritsar, specifically behind the Sadar Thana. If you know where Wisdom Classes is, then you can find us pretty easily. Being a unisex salon means we get a mix of everyone coming in. Men want a quick cut or a shave, and women come for all sorts of hair work. It is a busy street, but once you step inside, it is just us and the chairs. We started this because we wanted to work for ourselves in our own city. Amritsar is a big place, but this little corner near the station area feels like home. We spend a lot of time on our feet. The scissors and combs are always moving. We don't really do big advertisements or anything like that. People usually just see the sign when they are heading to class or dealing with things at the police station nearby. The lighting inside is bright so we can see what we are doing. We keep a few magazines around for when there is a wait. Sometimes the power goes out or the water is slow, but we manage. It’s a straightforward shop. We aren't trying to be like those big chains you see in malls. It’s just a local business on Macleod Road. We open up early and stay until the last person is finished. Most days are long but we like the work. It is just how we make our living. It’s not always easy but we keep going.
