Cut N Beauty Saloon

Rani Ka Bagh is a fairly nice area of Amritsar, and it’s a bit different from the really crowded parts of the old city. Our shop, Cut N Beauty Saloon, is located at 33 A. If you know where the Nirankari Satsang Bhawan is, you can find us quite easily because we are situated right near there. The building we are in is simple and we have been in this exact spot for a good amount of time now. We have those heavy old-style chairs that don't move around much and are quite solid. The floor is tiled but has some small cracks here and there from years of use. We don't really mind the imperfections. We use basic tools for our work, nothing electric that is too fancy or loud. Mostly it’s just the sound of the scissors clicking all through the day. People from the neighborhood usually come by after they finish their work. Sometimes it’s very quiet and we just sit outside on the front steps for a bit of fresh air. We get the local newspaper delivered every morning and we read it when there’s nobody sitting in the chair. It’s a small operation we run here. We don’t have a big team of people, just a couple of us who know how to handle the hair and the shaves. The light inside is a bit dim in the far corners, but we have a big bright bulb over the main mirrors. It works fine for what we need.
