Chander Mohan Tour & Travel

Being right across from the Amritsar railway station means we see a lot of tired faces every day. Our shop is the first one on Railway Link Road, so it's hard to miss once you step off the train and cross the street. I’ve been running Chander Mohan Tour & Travel from this small spot for years. The noise from the station is constant, but you get used to it after a while. Most people who come in are looking for a quick way to get to their hotel or want to see the sights before their next train leaves. We have a couple of cars parked nearby. It gets quite hectic in the winter months when more tourists visit. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us here making sure the keys are ready and the drivers are awake. Sometimes the tea stall next door is the place to find me if I'm not behind the desk. We try to keep things straightforward. No big promises, just a car and a driver who knows the way. It’s a busy life on this road. People are always in a hurry, and we do our part to help them move along. The sun hits the shop front pretty hard in the afternoons, so we usually have the shutter halfway down to keep it cool inside. It’s not a fancy place with air conditioning, just a ceiling fan that’s seen better days. But the cars we use are kept in decent shape because that’s what actually matters for the trip.
