Neewan Bazar is always crowded, especially since it’s right by the Golden Temple. We’ve been here at Shop 150 for a good while now. Most days just blend into each other with people coming in because their screen broke or they need a new SIM card. Chowk Phuwara is just around the corner, so there is never really a quiet moment. It gets pretty loud outside with all the rickshaws and tourists walking past. I usually open up in the morning and the first thing I do is dust off the counters. Living and working in Amritsar means you get used to the noise. Ashu Telecom is basically just a small spot where we fix things and sell a few phone accessories. Sometimes the internet is slow, or the electricity goes out for a bit, but we just keep going. It isn't anything fancy. People stop by when they’re heading to the temple. We see a lot of different faces every day. Some people stay for a chat while we look at their phones, others are in a big hurry. It’s just how it is in this part of town. We drink tea together when it's not too busy. That’s about it for us.
