Arun Karyana Store

If you walk down Gali Number 2 in Hari Pura, you will find my store. We are right there near the SBI Bank branch, which makes it easy for people to find us. Amritsar is a city with a lot of history, and Haripura is a busy little corner of it. I have been running this karyana store for a long time. It is full of the smell of open sacks of pulses and rice. I don't like those pre-packaged things as much; I prefer the old way of weighing things out. My hands are always a bit white from the flour. The shop is a bit dark inside, but I know exactly where every jar and bag is kept. Some days the lane is so crowded with scooters that it is hard to get through, but people always find a way to my door. I don't use any computers or fancy billing machines. I just write things down in my ledger and keep going. Customers come here not just for groceries but sometimes just to stand and talk for a bit. It is a friendly place. I don't have any big goals of opening more stores. This one keeps me busy enough from morning until night. Being near the bank means there are always people around, which is good for business. It is just a humble shop in a humble neighborhood, and that is plenty for me. I am just a local guy selling basic goods.
