Arora General Store

You can find Arora General Store at Shop Number 57. We are on Fatehgarh Churian Road in Amritsar. The landmark most people use is Rattan Singh Chowk. It’s a very busy intersection. There’s always the sound of traffic and people talking. I’ve lived in Amritsar all my life and this shop is where I spend most of my time. We sell a bit of everything, from notebooks to washing powder. The shop isn’t very big, so things are stacked pretty high on the shelves. Sometimes I have to use a long stick to get things down from the top shelf. The winters here get very cold, so I keep a small heater near my feet. In the summer, the dust from Fatehgarh Churian Road is a constant battle. I wipe down the counters every hour or so. People stop by on their way to the chowk. It’s a convenient spot for them. We don't have any fancy displays. Just the goods and a counter. I like talking to the customers, hearing about their day. It makes the long hours go by faster. We are just a local general store trying to serve the neighborhood. Nothing more to it. If you’re passing by Rattan Singh Chowk, you’ll see our sign. We’ve been part of this street for quite some time now.
