Amarjit Karyana Store

Amarjit Karyana Store is located on Bhullarai Road in Purewal Nagar. We are quite easy to find because we are situated near Novelty Sweets, which is a place almost everyone in this part of town knows. The road outside can get pretty hectic with cars and bikes, especially in the evenings when people are heading home and stopping for snacks nearby. Our store is a typical karyana setup, filled with sacks of grains and rows of boxes. We spend a lot of our time weighing things out and chatting with the regulars who come in from the Purewal Nagar neighborhood. The building is a sturdy brick structure, and we keep the front open to let in the air, even if it means a bit of noise from Bhullarai Road comes in too. There is usually a bit of a mess near the back where we keep the extra crates, but we try to keep the front looking presentable. We don't use any complicated systems for our work, just a basic scale and our memory for where everything is kept. Sometimes when it is slow, we just stand by the door and watch the people going into the sweet shop next door. It is a good, honest way to make a living, and being in a familiar neighborhood like this makes the long hours feel a bit shorter.
