Aggarwal Karyana Store

We are located in Guru Gobind Singh Nagar, right near the place everyone calls Tung Wali Puli on Majitha Road. The bridge is a big landmark for us. I have lived in Amritsar my whole life and this shop has been my second home for a long time. It is a karyana store, so we focus on the big stuff like flour and rice. I have those big open bins where people can see exactly what they are buying. It is more work to keep them clean, but people like it that way. The 143001 area gets quite busy with people moving between the colonies. I often have to help older ladies carry their heavy bags to the edge of the road where they can catch a rickshaw. My son helps me out on the weekends, but mostly it is just me. I spend a lot of my time talking to the suppliers, trying to get the best prices so I do not have to charge my neighbors too much. The shop walls are a bit faded and the fan hums quite loudly, but it does the job. We don't have any fancy displays or bright lights. It is just a plain room filled with things people need to eat and live. Some days are slow and I just sit and watch the traffic go over the puli. Other days, I do not even have time to drink my tea before the next customer arrives.
