Zilla Parishad High School For Girls

Out in the Pisava area of Madha Habibpur, our school sits as a familiar spot for the local families. Zilla Parishad High School For Girls is a place where local girls come to finish their secondary education. It’s a bit of a trek for some who come from the smaller clusters of houses nearby, but they make it every day. The building is a bit older, with some cracks in the plaster here and there on the exterior, but it stays cool enough in the summer. We have a set routine with the morning assembly and then straight into the classes. It’s mostly quiet during the lessons, except for the sound of a teacher’s voice or the rustle of notebooks. During the break, the courtyard gets quite loud with everyone talking and sharing their lunches. We don't have much in the way of high-tech gadgets, just the usual boards and wooden benches that have been here for years. The staff here is mostly local, so we know when someone is missing or if a family is having a hard time. It’s a community-driven place through and through. We handle the government forms and the exam schedules as they come. It’s not about being the most modern school in Aligarh; it’s about providing a space for these girls to learn their subjects. The dusty road outside is always busy with cycles passing by. We just keep the gates open and work through the daily lessons together.
