Zilla Parishad High School Burjapadu

We have been here in the Madrak area for a good while now. It is just a regular high school, nothing too fancy or special to look at from the outside. We have the local kids from all around the Burjapadu part of Aligarh coming in every morning. Some of them walk quite a distance and others take the bus. It gets a bit loud when the bells go off for class changes, but that is just how a school feels. We try to keep things running as smooth as we can, but sometimes the chalk runs out or a desk needs fixing. The building is not brand new, and you can see that from the marks on the walls, but it does its job for the students. Most of us working here grew up in Aligarh too, so we know the families and the neighborhood well. Classes start early and we finish up in the afternoon heat. It is a lot of daily work teaching all these different subjects. Sometimes we have to deal with broken fans when it gets really hot. We just keep going anyway. It is not like those big private schools with shiny gates and manicured lawns. We are right here on the main road, which makes us easy to find for parents. They come by to talk about their kids' grades and we just sit and have a chat. It is a community thing mostly. We make sure the kids have a place to sit and learn.
