Shree Rama Steel & Brass Works

Shree Rama Steel & Brass Works is located at number 18, within the 82 Durga Puri Jhammanlal Compound. It’s right off Agra Road. If you know the area, you know it’s mostly workshops and small factories. Our place is full of the sounds of metal hitting metal. There is always some welding going on or someone using a grinder. It’s a hot environment, especially during the middle of the day, but we are used to it by now. The compound is always busy with people moving materials and scrap. We have piles of steel and brass rods tucked into the corners. The floor is concrete and usually covered in a bit of metal dust. We don't have an office staff; the same people who talk to the customers are the ones out there working the machines. It’s been this way since we started at this Agra Road location. We keep our tools organized on the walls, though sometimes things get misplaced when we are in a hurry. The traffic on the main road is constant, and the dust from the street blows into the compound. We just keep the water cooler filled and keep working. There’s nothing fancy about what we do. We take the raw metal and turn it into what’s needed. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday. We like being part of this industrial community here.
