Oriental Metal Works

Our workshop is at number 19 in Masoodabad. It’s a small place, nothing like those big factories you see on the news. We’ve been working with metal here for a long time. The street outside is usually full of kids playing or people moving about their day. It’s a tight-knit neighborhood where everyone knows who we are. When the hammers start going in the morning, the neighbors probably don't love the noise, but they’re used to it by now. We keep the front door open most of the time to let the air circulate, otherwise it gets way too hot in the back. There’s a lot of scrap metal piled up in the corners, which we try to sort through every weekend if we have the energy left. It’s honest work, and it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday. Sometimes we stay late if a job needs finishing. We don’t have a website or a marketing person; we just do what we do. The floor is concrete and has a few cracks in it from dropping heavy pieces over the years. We have a small desk tucked in the corner where the bills get paid and the phone sits. It’s not much to look at, but it serves us well. Most of our tools have been with us since the beginning. We just keep sharpening them and getting on with the next task. That is how we keep things moving along.
