Shanti Niketan World School

Shanti Niketan World School sits on Ramghat Road in Aligarh. The address is 202001 if you are looking for it. It's a fairly large building but it's not fancy. We have plenty of windows to let the light in during class. Aligarh can be a busy city, and Ramghat Road is usually moving fast, but we have a bit of space behind the gates. We have a lot of kids coming in every day from different parts of the neighborhood. The teachers get here early to set up the boards. We don't have a lot of gadgets, just the usual things you need to teach. We try to keep the hallways clean, though with so many feet moving through, it's a constant job. The kids bring their tiffin boxes and eat together under the shade when it's hot. We don't have a big cafeteria or anything like that. People know us as a place where the kids actually study. We aren't interested in making big speeches. We just want the students to learn their English and Hindi and get through their exams. Sometimes we have a sports day where everyone goes to the field, and it gets very loud. It’s nice to see the parents show up for that. We keep the gates shut during school hours for safety. It's a basic setup that has worked for us and the families here for quite some time.
