Our building is tucked away at 17/240, D-7 in Gomti Nagar, right off the Agra Road. Most people in Aligarh know this stretch pretty well. It’s a busy part of town, so there is always some noise from the traffic coming in through the windows. We start things early, usually before the sun gets too high. The classrooms are simple, and we try to keep them tidy, though by midday there is usually chalk dust and paper scraps everywhere. It isn't a flashy place, just a regular school where we try to get the work done. The staff rooms are often full of books and half-finished tea cups because there is always a lot to grade or plan. We see a lot of the same families year after year, which makes the place feel familiar to everyone who walks in. Some of the desks have been here for a long time, and you can see where kids have scratched their names over the years. We don't spend much time worrying about how things look to outsiders; we are more concerned with making sure the students are actually sitting down and reading their books. The walk from the main road can be a bit dusty in the summer, but once you get inside the gates, it feels a bit more contained. It's a practical setup for the local neighborhood.
