Golden Restaurants

People around Rasal Ganj usually know where we are because we’re so close to the Sp City Office here in Aligarh. We’ve been running Golden Restaurants for a while now, and it’s basically just a place where you can get a meal without any extra drama. The street outside can get really crowded, especially with all the office workers coming out at the same time, and sometimes the noise from the horns just flows right in through the front. We spend a lot of our morning just chopping vegetables and getting the big pots ready before the heat of the day really kicks in. It’s not a fancy setup with velvet chairs or anything like that. It’s just a plain room with enough space for folks to sit and eat. We do our own cleaning and make sure the floors are wiped down every couple of hours because of all the dust from the road. Some days are slow and we just sit around talking, but most days it is a bit of a scramble to keep up with everyone. We don't really have a big story to tell about ourselves. We just opened up because there was a spot available and we knew how to cook. It is a simple life, just staying open until the food runs out or it gets too late to stay awake. You see the same people every day and that’s what makes it feel like a real part of the neighborhood.
