Lalit Catering &Catering

It’s usually pretty loud around here in Shahpura Mohalla. We’ve been running Lalit Catering &Catering from this spot on Maliyan Chop Beawer Road for a while now. Most days start before the sun is even up. You can hear the big pots clanking and the smell of spices starts drifting out into the street. It is a family thing mostly. We handle all sorts of events, from small family dinners to those big weddings that seem to go on forever. The kitchen gets really hot in the summer, but we just get used to it. My hands are always stained with turmeric or something else from the stove. We don't have a fancy office or anything like that. Just a solid place where we prep the food and make sure the labels are right on the containers. People around the neighborhood know where to find us if they need a meal for fifty or five hundred people. Sometimes things get a bit chaotic when three orders come in at once, but we manage. We just focus on getting the salt right and making sure the rotis are soft enough. It is hard work, standing on your feet all day long, but it feels okay when the plates come back empty. That’s just how we do things here. We don't spend much time on the computer or making flyers. We’d rather be in the back checking the lentils and making sure the rice is fluffy.
