The Daavat

This place is tucked into the Hotel Regency, right by Delhi Gate. It’s a busy corner of Ajmer, 305001. We share the space here, so it’s a bit of a mix of people coming through. The gate is a big landmark, so we never really have to give long directions. People just know where the gate is and then they see the hotel. We’ve been operating out of this spot for a good while. It is a bit cramped sometimes when it’s busy outside, but we make it work. The walls are a bit old and maybe the paint isn't perfect, but it feels like home to us. We don't have a marketing department or anything like that. It is mostly just a few of us making sure everything is in order. You walk in and it’s pretty plain. We like it that way. No need for anything fancy when you’re just trying to run a business. We see travelers and locals alike. Some days are slower than others. On the slow days, we just tidy up and wait for the next person. On busy days, it’s a bit of a scramble. But we’ve got a rhythm down now. Living and working in this part of Ajmer means you get used to the noise. It’s just part of the day. We are glad to be here, right in the middle of it all, just doing our thing.
