Simran Food Corner

Simran Food Corner is tucked away in Gali No. 1. It’s right there in Sarswati Nagar, Dhola Bhata. Ajmer is a crowded place, especially around Mayo Link Road. We started this small corner because we like to cook. It’s not a big restaurant. Just a few tables and a hot stove. We get a lot of people coming from work in the evenings. The 305001 area stays busy until late at night. My wife helps me with the prep work in the morning. We chop onions and peel potatoes for hours. It gets hot inside the shop during the summer months. We put up a small fan but it doesn't do much. People mostly take their food to go. We have a regular crowd from the neighborhood. Some kids come by after school for a quick bite. We don’t have a fancy menu. Just the things we know how to make well. The floor is a bit uneven, but nobody seems to mind. Sometimes we run out of gas and have to wait for the delivery. That’s just how it goes here. I’ve lived in Dhola Bhata my whole life. My father had a shop nearby too. We use the same spices he used. It smells like home every time we start the fryer. If the lights go out, we use candles. It’s a modest little spot on the street. We try to keep the prices low so everyone can afford a good meal after a long day of work. It’s a simple life for us here in Ajmer.
