Gajanand Catering

Gajanand Catering is located right near Jaimandir in Beawar. Being so close to the temple means we hear the bells ringing every morning and evening. It is a good sound to work to. Our days start very early, often before the sun is even up, because we have to get the fires going for the big cooking pots. The kitchen is always full of steam and the smell of spices like turmeric and cumin. We spend hours chopping vegetables and stirring huge batches of food. It is hot work and your back starts to ache after a while, but we are used to it. We don't have a fancy office where people sit at computers. Our business happens over the stove or on the phone while we are making lists of ingredients. We use a lot of local stuff we get from the market nearby. In Beawar, everyone knows everyone, so we often see familiar faces when we are out delivering food. Sometimes we cater for big weddings and other times it is just a small family gathering. We don't have a big mission statement or anything like that. We just want the food to taste right and be ready on time. When the day is over, we scrub the floors and wash the big pots so they are ready for the next morning. It is a cycle that never really stops.
