Funky Monkey Cafe

People often find us over here at Funky Monkey Cafe when they are walking through Choti Basti in Pushkar. We are right by Mahadev Chowk, which is usually a pretty busy part of town with people coming and going to the temples or just wandering the lanes. The cafe isn't very big, but we have enough space for people to sit down and have a drink or something to eat while they watch the street. It can get a little crowded during the peak season when the tourists arrive, but mostly it is just a steady pace. I usually spend my mornings getting the tables wiped down and making sure everything is where it should be before the first customers show up. The air in Pushkar has a certain smell to it, a mix of incense and old buildings, and you can feel that sitting here at the chowk. We don't have a big corporate team or anything like that, it is just a few of us working together to keep the place going. Sometimes the power goes out or the water is slow, but that is just how things work in this part of town. We see a lot of travelers who stay for hours reading books or talking. It feels good to have a spot where people feel they can just hang out without being rushed. We just do our work and hope the day goes smoothly.
