Akshita Marble

We are located in the Kishangarh Industrial Area, which is exactly where you’d expect to find a place like Akshita Marble. It’s a dusty part of town with lots of trucks moving back and forth all day. Our yard is filled with slabs of stone and marble that we’ve brought in. It’s heavy work, and we spend a lot of time outside in the sun. We don't have a fancy showroom with air conditioning. Instead, we have a small office with a fan and some samples on the floor. If you want to see the marble, you have to walk out into the yard. We show people the different patterns and colors, and we’re honest about what’s good and what has flaws. Every piece of stone is different, so it takes time to find the right one. I’ve been working with marble for a long time now, so I can tell a lot just by looking at the grain. It’s a noisy business with the saws and the loaders running, but we’re used to it. We deal with builders and people trying to fix up their own houses. We don't have a big sales team. It’s usually just me or one of the guys talking to whoever shows up. We keep the prices fair and try to get the orders out on time, though sometimes the trucks get delayed. It’s a tough business, but we like it.
