Aayushi Marble

Down here on Tunkda Road, things get pretty dusty because of all the stone work. Aayushi Marble has been in this spot on Maarvad Marg for a while now. If you walk inside, you'll see stacks of slabs leaning against the walls. It’s heavy work moving these things around, and we usually have a few guys helping with the lifting. The floor is almost always covered in a thin layer of white dust no matter how much we sweep it. We spend a lot of time talking to people who are building houses or fixing up their floors. Sometimes they bring small samples of what they want, and we have to go looking through the back to see what matches. Kishangarh is a busy place for this kind of stuff, so there are always trucks moving up and down the road outside. The noise of the saws cutting through stone is something you just get used to after a week. We keep a ledger on a small desk near the front to track what goes out. It isn't a fancy office, just some chairs and a fan that works most of the time. We drink a lot of tea to keep going through the afternoon. The sun hits the front of the shop pretty hard in the summer, making the stone feel hot to the touch. It’s just a basic yard where we handle the marble and make sure things get loaded onto the tempos correctly.
