Abhay Marble

Kishangarh is famous for its marble, and we are right in the middle of it at the Riico industrial area. Our yard at H-156 is mostly just stacks of stone and a lot of dust. It gets really hot out there in the afternoon sun, but that is part of the job. We have been here for quite some time now, watching the trucks go by all day long. It isn't a fancy office with air conditioning and soft chairs. We have a simple desk and a phone that rings quite a bit. Most of our work is just moving these heavy slabs around and showing them to people who stop by. They are looking for something for their floors or maybe a kitchen counter. We don't try to talk anyone into anything. You just see the stone and decide if you like it or not. My back feels the weight of the work some days, but we keep going. The neighbors are all doing the same thing, so there is always the sound of cutting and loading in the air. It is a noisy, busy place but it feels like home to us. We stay open until it gets dark. Sometimes we are still here late finishing the paperwork. It is a straightforward business, nothing complicated about it. We just sell the marble we have in the yard and try to keep things moving.
