Abhinay Marble

We are out in the Roopnagar Industrial Area at Abhinay Marble. It’s a dusty place because of all the stone work happening around us, but that is just how it is in this part of town. There are trucks coming and going all day long. My hands are usually covered in some kind of white powder from moving the slabs around. We have all kinds of pieces sitting in the yard, some big and some small leftovers from different jobs. When you walk around the area, you can hear the sound of machines cutting stone and people shouting to be heard over the noise. It isn't a fancy showroom with air conditioning or anything like that. It’s just a workspace where we keep the inventory and show people what we have available. Sometimes the rain makes the yard a bit messy, but the marble looks better when it’s wet anyway. People drive out here specifically because they know we are in the industrial zone. We spend most of our time measuring things and helping load up the vehicles. It is hard work, especially when it is hot outside and the sun reflects off the white stones. We just keep doing what we do every day, keeping track of the stock and making sure things are organized in our corner of Roopnagar. It’s a plain business for people who need real stone for their floors or walls.
