We are over here at Sr.No 271-00-40 in Jalgaonrahata. It’s part of Ahmednagar, and if you know the area, it’s mostly just farms and dust. Hirwai Technogreen Producer Company Limited started because a few of us felt like we needed a way to handle things better together. We deal with what comes out of the soil. Some days are long, especially when the sun is hitting the fields hard, but that is just how it is in Maharashtra. We spend a lot of time talking about seeds and what the weather is doing. Our office isn't anything fancy, just a place to sit and figure out the numbers. People drop by, usually with dirt on their boots. We try to keep the paperwork straight, though it piles up sometimes. It’s not a big corporate thing. We are just local folks trying to make the farm work pay off a bit more. Most of us grew up right around here. We know the roads and which wells are running low this year. Sometimes the machinery breaks down and we spend half the morning fixing it instead of doing what we planned. It’s practical work.
