Jay Engineering

Jay Engineering is situated at Plot No. 57/9 in Phase I of the G.I.D.C. in Vatva. Vatva is a huge industrial area, and it can be a bit overwhelming if you aren’t used to the smoke and the noise. Our plot is one of the smaller ones, but we make the most of the space we have. We’ve been operating out of this location for several years now. The daily routine is pretty much the same: get in, start the machines, and work through the orders. We do various types of engineering work, mostly involving steel and iron. The air inside the workshop always has that metallic tang to it. We don’t have a big corporate structure or anything like that. It’s just a small team of us. We talk across the machines while we work, mostly about the jobs or what’s going on in the neighborhood. The walls are a bit stained from the oil mist, and the floor is dark from years of use. It’s an honest place where people work hard. When the power goes out, which happens sometimes, we just sit outside on the steps and wait for it to come back. We aren't in a rush to become a massive corporation; we’re happy just doing what we do at Plot 57/9. It’s a good spot in Vatva and it feels like home to us after all this time.
