Mac Engineering Industries

Our workshop is over at C-1B/64/2. It’s a small engineering setup that stays pretty busy. We have a couple of old lathes and some welding equipment that we use daily. It’s mostly metalwork here. We take on small jobs for other companies or fix parts that have broken down in their factories. The floor is usually covered in metal shavings by noon. We have to sweep it up every night before we leave. It’s just a couple of us working here most days. We’ve been at this location for several years. It’s not a shiny new factory with a lot of technology. It’s a bit old and the roof leaks a little when it rains really hard in the monsoon. We don't mind it much. We just move the machines out of the way. We don't have a website or anything like that to show off our work. People just know we are here in the industrial block and they stop by. We do a lot of custom work for people. Someone brings in a drawing on a piece of paper and we see if we can make it out of steel or iron. Sometimes it takes a few tries to get the measurements exactly right. Engineering is like that. You have to be precise but also know how to work with the tools you actually have. It’s a noisy place with the sound of grinding and cutting.
