Uma Sales

Uma Sales is located right near the CPM office in Mahadeva Nagar, which is a pretty busy little corner of the world. I started this place because I wanted to be my own boss, even if that means I end up working more hours than I ever did before. We handle a lot of different items, mostly things that local builders or homeowners might need in a hurry. It is not a polished showroom by any means. There are boxes stacked in the corners and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it gets the job done. I spend a lot of my time on the phone with suppliers, trying to make sure the prices haven't jumped again. Dealing with the heat in the summer is the hardest part because the shop faces the sun in the afternoon. I usually keep a few extra chairs in the back for when friends drop by to complain about the traffic or the latest government rules. We don’t have a big sign out front, just a simple board that has been there since we opened. People find us mostly because they’ve been told we have what they need. It’s a lot of physical work, moving crates and checking invoices, but it keeps me busy. I like the routine of opening the shutters every morning and seeing the neighborhood wake up. It’s just a regular business for regular folks.
