We are spread out across Plot No. 21 to 30 in Phase 1 of the GIDC. It’s a pretty large area to cover every day. You can find us working on various industrial projects throughout the week. The facility is quite big, but it’s still just a place where we do our work. There’s a lot of machinery and different sections for all the different tasks. It isn't a quiet place by any means. There is always something humming or clanking in the background. We’ve been part of this GIDC phase for a long time. Our desks are usually covered in technical drawings and old manuals. We don’t spend much time making the place look pretty. It’s an industrial site, so we just focus on the function of things. The yard is full of equipment and sometimes it’s hard to find a parking spot because of all the crates waiting to be moved. We have a small canteen where we all gather for lunch and a bit of a break. It’s nothing special, just basic food and some benches. Most of us have worked here for a decade or more. We know the ins and outs of the whole plot. It’s a lot of walking back and forth between the buildings to get things done. We just get on with it. There’s always another job to start as soon as one finishes. It’s a steady pace that we’ve grown used to.
