You’ll find my studio at 1205 Titenium City Center, right across from Seema Hall in the Satellite area. It’s a big building, and being up on the twelfth floor gives a pretty good view of the traffic below. I spend a lot of my time surrounded by tripods, lights, and backdrops. The space is often a mess of cables and memory cards scattered on the desk. People come in for all sorts of photos, from family portraits to stuff for their businesses. It’s a lot of standing around and waiting for the right light or trying to get a kid to sit still. Across the way, Seema Hall is always having some event or wedding, so the whole area stays pretty lively with music and people. I’ve been doing this for a while now, starting out with just one camera and a lot of curiosity. Now, the studio is my second home. Sometimes I spend all night editing at the computer until my eyes get tired and the sun starts coming up. It’s not always glamorous; there’s a lot of lugging heavy bags around and worrying about batteries dying at the wrong time. But it’s what I do. I’m not into the big fancy corporate talk; I just like taking pictures that look real. The studio might be a bit cluttered, but I know where everything is, and it works for me and the people who come by every day.
