Viraj Shah Photography

My studio is in the Amrapali Complex, specifically unit A-304. It’s on Ankur Road, not far from the Jain Deraser Temple. Photography is what happens here every day. I’ve got backdrops and lights set up in one corner, and my computer for editing in the other. It’s not a massive studio, but it works for the portraits and commercial shots I do. The complex is usually pretty busy, but once you’re inside the studio, it’s quiet enough to work. I spend a lot of time looking through the lens or staring at a monitor. People come in for all sorts of photos, from family stuff to professional headshots. I try to keep the atmosphere relaxed. It’s just me running things, so there’s no corporate vibe here. I often have coffee cups sitting around and stacks of prints waiting to be sorted. Being near the temple means it’s a landmark people know. I’ve been at this Amrapali address for a while and have seen the neighborhood change. I just keep taking pictures and trying to capture things as they are. It’s a simple business. I don’t use a lot of fancy jargon. I just show up, set the lights, and start shooting. That’s my daily routine at A-304. I don't really have a big staff, so I do most of the work myself from start to finish.
