Bhavik Patel'S Photography

Bhavik Patel'S Photography is based out of the Bombay Street Cafe in Ambavadi. It’s not a traditional office, but it’s where I do most of my work. I spend a lot of time sitting at one of the corner tables with my laptop and a cup of tea, going through hundreds of photos from the latest shoot. Being in Ambavadi is nice because it’s a lively area with good light for photos. My camera gear is usually taking up too much space on the table, and the cafe staff is pretty patient with me. I don't have a big studio or a team of assistants. It’s just me and my cameras. Most of my days are spent either out at a location or here in the cafe editing. I take pictures of weddings, family events, and sometimes just random things I see on the street that look interesting. It’s not a corporate business. It’s just a guy who likes taking pictures and managed to make a living out of it. Some days the lighting is perfect and everything goes right. Other days, I’m struggling with a camera lens that won’t focus or a memory card that’s acting up. I don't use a lot of fancy words to describe what I do. I just try to capture things as they look. People usually find me through word of mouth. If you see someone with a couple of cameras draped over their shoulder at the cafe, that’s probably me. It’s a simple, busy life.
