Located near Kamdar Maidan in Momtipur, Ahmedabad, TEXTILE MACHINERY MFG. CO is where we spend most of our time. It’s right there in Gujarat. We make machinery for textiles, which is what people around here have done for a long time. The building isn't brand new, but it works for what we need. Sometimes the traffic near Momtipur gets a bit much, but we're used to it. We show up early, get the lights on, and start working on the parts. It's a lot of metal and grease. Some of the guys have been here since they were young. We don’t have a big office or anything, just a desk in the corner for the paperwork. Most of the space is for the machines. Ahmedabad has a history with textiles, so we fit right in. We don't talk much about goals or anything, we just focus on the task for the day. If a machine needs fixing, we fix it. If a part needs making, we make it. That’s the daily routine. The shop floor can get dusty, and the noise is constant once we get started. It feels right when things are moving. We’ve stayed in the same spot for years because it’s where we belong. Just a regular company doing regular work near the Maidan. We take our breaks together and talk about whatever is going on in the city.
